Remember when you were just Drunk Enough to Dance, Fishin for Woos and ended with A Hangover You Don’t Deserve? Well if you do, to you and your (honourable) party mates we say; Rock On Honourable Ones, get ready to undo your ties and to roll back the cuffs of your shirt (that’s if you happen to be a white collar) for Bowling for Soup is coming to South Africa. (Of course, the phrases in brackets are the names of some of their albums).
A United Kingdom-based punk rock will be performing live at Rumours Rock City, Johannesburg come the 30th of March 2018, joined by Slippery when wet, Made for the broadway and Grassy spark.
It’s unnecessary to mention Bowling for Soup’s track-record (actually, it is necessary). This band was established in 1994, in Wichita Falls Texas,-that’s over two decades in the music business. Bowling for Soup, which is also known as BFS, has been nominated twice for the Grammys, has made ten studio albums and has reached over a million album sales to its name. BFS also has one live album, three extended plays, eighteen singles, and twenty-four music videos. Hangover You Don’t Deserve is their most successful album just as yet, it earned a gold certificate. 1985, a hit from Hangover You Don’t Deserve album, helped propel the album to number 37 on the Billboard 200. Almost, another hit-song from Hangover You Don’t Deserve album, did a chart on the UK singles chart at number 46 on the US Top 100 and number 23 on US Pop 100.
Bowling for soup was also featured on several movies. They can be spotted at the movie called Curse, where they appeared at the start of the movie playing the song Li’l Red Riding Hood. They’ve also appeared in the film Crossroad, playing at the graduation party. Their cover version was also used in the Disney movie, Sky high, and it became the movie’s soundtrack. 1985 was featured on an episode of Pimp my ride in the UK. The band’s Vocalist Jaret Reddick provided vocals on the Lakesick track Greenmount as the theme song for the adventure comedy also called Greenmount.
Bowling for Soup is a quadrant rock music band made of four males namely; Jaret Reddick who’s a lead vocalist and guitarist, Chris Burney who’s also a guitarist and a vocalist, Erick Chandler who’s a bassist and Gary Wiseman who is behind the drums. Come witness this once in a lifetime experience with one of the best punk rock music band.
