New and Returning TV Series and Film Premieres; 2017 Summer/Fall Season

As we draw nearer towards the first half of the year, we are coming closer to a season of entertainment. All production houses are about to release the work that they have been doing over the past few months and we as always can expect suspense, drama, action, comedy and love this new season. I am going to share with you some of the huge screen productions that are coming back on air this June and July whilst also previewing new productions which are likely going to make waves.


Game of thrones

The seventh season of the fantasy drama television series Game of Thrones is set to premiere on HBO on July 16, 2017 till the 16th of August. This year’s season will have three fewer episodes as in comparison to previous editions which consisted of ten episodes. Like the previous season, it will largely consist of original content currently not found in George R. R. Martin‘s A Song of Ice and Fire series, but also adapts material from the upcoming sixth and seventh novels The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring.

HBO ordered the seventh season on April 21, 2016, three days before the premiere of the show’s sixth season, and began filming on August 31, 2016. The season was filmed primarily in Northern Ireland, Spain, and Iceland.

Game of Thrones features a large ensemble cast, including Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke and Kit Harington. The season will introduce several new cast members, including Jim Broadbent and Tom Hopper.



House of Cards

From the 30th of May, Netflix will begin broadcasting the new season of the hit series House of Cards entering its fifth season. Frank Underwood’s thirst for power is still unquenchable. Make a date and watch him craft fake narratives and throw away longtime allies all in the quest to be the most powerful man on earth.

During the upcoming season, the Underwood’s will be trying to repair their fractured political ambitions.

Orange is the New Black

The series, Orange is the New Black returns to our screens for the fifth time. We all have watched and loved these women in their prison cells, however, are they going to all perish there? Watch the new season to see if they are ever going to get out of this prison.

Orphan Black

The original drama series, Orphan Black returns to our screens this June on the 10th for the fifth and final season. Star Tatiana Maslany returns to her Emmy-winning role as multiple clones in the Peabody Award-winning series that all started on a train platform. A troubled woman, Beth Childs (Maslany), locked eyes with an unknown identical woman, Sarah Manning (Maslany), before jumping to her death. From that day on, they’ve been inextricably linked to a clone conspiracy that has come to rule Sarah’s life. The cast also includes Ari Millen, Jordan Gavaris, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Skyler Wexler, Kevin Hanchard, Evelyne Brochu, Kristian Bruun and Josh Vokey.



For Better or Worse

Marcus and Angela return to our living rooms this June from the 10th. Follow their marriage’s high and lows in this drama-comedy. The show follows the lives of Marcus’ and Angela’s friends as well. There’s Joseph, Marcus’ best friend and business partner. Joseph is left devastated by his breakup with his longtime girlfriend, Leslie. Tired of waiting for a proposal from Joseph, Leslie has moved on to bigger and better things while staying focused on her career and her undying friendship with Angela. Keisha, Marcus’ ex, continues to cause a world of trouble for the group of friends and colleagues. And Jennifer and Todd are still as crazy as ever.
