Back for round two. A while back we had a chance to talk to and get to know the rising musical movement called ICONiX. This rare group of collective and enthusiastic people is built out of all things relating to art. From music to web design and branding they are the people to talk to when it comes to anything.
“Medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for.”
The self-made group has climbed mountains and overcame obstacles that some refer to as dream killers. When you get to know these group of guys and girls you can understand what it means when people say, “Started from the bottom now we’re here”. They didn’t let anything stand in their way and look at them now. With an incredible new album out titled BLAKHEART-GOLDMIND, it’s no doubt that ICONiX is stomping down the door and making themselves know in the world of Jazz and alternative music.
From club events to classy events, ICONiX is a top 10 contender for entertainment. From a time where they were still busy sorting out studio space now they’re ready to perform and entertain at even the best of the best clubs in South Africa.
Never before have there been a music group with such diversity. From inspirational members such as Derah III, Lord Kenn, Phifteen, Pankaa$, KiD iOsif, R3uben to phenomenal singers like Geraldine, Trecia and Tumie it’s safe to say that talent will never run out in this group. ICONiX also have CLV, D’Joe, Ccino and Xtra X on the producing roster to help them keep the beats lit. But what does it matter if your sound is beast but you have no look? That’s where Kabi Sabi comes in as the graphics department.
The group stands for Love, Art, and Knowledge. With these 3 core objectives, they aim to empower the youth of this nation. So check out their social media pages and listen to their talent on YouTube and Soundcloud as they have still much more to come.
