Moshito 2017, “Rhythms of the Ancients”

From traveler to the most creative lover of life, the Moshito Street Festival will certainly be the place to be this September. From theatres and jazz clubs, art galleries, craft and flea markets to museums and spectacular street art, Newtown will be the hottest spot in Jozi from the 6th to the 9th of September.

Moshito 2017’s theme this year will be “Rhythms of the Ancients”, they have also partnered with Trace Africa, guaranteeing that Moshito will live up to its brand promise of being Africa’s premier music market and event.

To start the event an Opening Concert will be held on the 6th of September at Newtown Music Factory, followed by the an Afro-World Night Music Concert on the 7th of September at the Soweto Theatre closing with the Urban World Music Street Festival in Newtown Junction Mall on 9th September.

Top South African artists such as Cassper Nyovest, Do Moon and more will also be part of this year’s fest. On the 9th these top class artists will be at Moshito Street Festival with Free Entrance to all event attendees.

One of the most anticipated parts of this year’s festival will be the Demo Presentation that will have a prize worth R20 000 for the best demo presentation. Registration for the main conference will be from R250 – R500 so make sure you’re ready and prepared for what promises to be a highlighted event of 2017.
