Adel Louw: A Journey of Empowerment as a Mrs. Universe South Africa Semi-Finalist

Adel Louw, a 42-year-old mother of two boys and a devoted wife, is making waves as a semi-finalist in the Mrs. Universe South Africa 2024 pageant. Her journey to this point has been one of perseverance, faith, and an unwavering commitment to making a difference.

Adel’s journey to the Mrs. Universe South Africa pageant began with an overwhelming urge to enter the competition, inspired by a profound belief that this was her calling. “I remember standing making tea for the boys, whilst eating my salad, I just thought if this is the Lord’s voice, he will provide where he guides, so I entered,” she recalls. Despite initial doubts and thinking it might be a scam, her faith led her to take the plunge. The moment she was sashed as a semi-finalist, she realized that this experience was meant for her, not just for personal growth, but to inspire her children and others.

For Adel, being a semi-finalist is more than a title; it’s a platform to amplify her voice and advocate for causes close to her heart. “Being a semi-finalist gives me a platform, where my heart can be heard,” she shares. She uses this opportunity to support children with disabilities, victims of domestic violence, and women struggling with obesity. Adel’s journey has been a reminder of her strength and a call to other women in similar situations to find their true north and live their lives with purpose.

Adel believes that her life experiences and the challenges she has overcome empower her to make a positive impact as Mrs. Universe South Africa. “It has elevated me in myself, and with elevation comes empowerment,” she explains. Her involvement with local organizations like Westrand School for the Disabled and Neminia House showcases her dedication to community service. Additionally, her participation in charity events and information sessions on domestic violence and child abuse highlights her commitment to making a tangible difference in her community.

The charity aspects of the pageant have been particularly meaningful for Adel. “For me, I enjoy the charity aspects, and knowing that in finding my voice, I am helping the community,” she says. The friendships she has formed and the knowledge she has gained have been invaluable. Regardless of the outcome of the pageant, Adel cherishes the positive impact the journey has had on her and her children.

Adel’s story is one of authenticity and resilience. “I believe I have a unique story, and I am a normal mom and wife,” she asserts. She hopes her journey will inspire women around the world to take the first step toward empowering themselves. Her message is clear: if she can make a difference, anyone can.

Time management has been a significant challenge for Adel, but she has learned to find her rhythm and balance her responsibilities. Her journey teaches the importance of patience and perseverance in the face of obstacles.

Adel believes that a Mrs. Universe South Africa should be a diverse woman who cares deeply, goes the extra mile, and embraces challenges and change. “She must be a woman that all women can relate to, someone that is not scared of a challenge or a change,” she emphasizes.
Adel’s advice to other women aspiring to participate in pageants like Mrs. Universe South Africa is to overcome self-doubt and take a chance. “Self-doubt has killed more dreams than taking a chance,” she says. She encourages women to challenge themselves and discover the gifts within.

Adel Louw’s journey as a Mrs. Universe South Africa semi-finalist is a testament to the power of faith, resilience, and the courage to step out of one’s comfort zone. Her story is an inspiration to all, demonstrating that with determination and a heart for service, one can truly make a difference.
