The Afri-Sisters Cultural Exchange Event, hosted by the powerhouse trio Lerato Mtileni, Bonolo Maduna, and Karabo Reddy from Multi-Ethnical Crafts NPC, was a vibrant celebration of Africa’s diversity and spirit. The event brought together people from all walks of life to share culture, music, food, and good energy, and it was nothing short of a success!

The day kicked off with captivating cultural presentations from women representing different South African backgrounds, including Afrikaans, Sepedi, Xhosa, and Tsonga. Each speaker added their own touch of tradition, storytelling, and pride, reminding everyone just how rich and colourful our heritage truly is. Presenters Susan Mouton, Voula Mmako, Zintsikelelo Madikwa, and Vutivi Mkansi had the crowd hooked from the start.
Guiding the day with warmth and humour were the expert MCs Thelma Masendi and Keshni Yelumalay, who kept things flowing beautifully. One of the standout moments was a lively panel discussion featuring representatives from Ethiopian, Spanish, South Indian, West Indian, Kenyan, and Muslim communities. The speakers — Sabrina Pira, Elshaday (Miss Ethio-SA Ambassador), Dr Shubhangi Jadhav, Yumna Khan, Letitia Dhaver, and Mariam Muhammad, shared powerful insights on cultural respect, understanding, and unity.

Of course, no African gathering is complete without great entertainment. The crowd was treated to stunning performances from Pitbull Zulu Dancers, Lerehlabetse Setswana Dance Group, and KP Lesedi Drama and Cultural Crew. Musicians like Mama Winnie, Bishop Selepe, Ngoakoana Aisha, Africa Soul Prince, Thabiso Tlou, and Pepsin got everyone up and moving, turning the event into one big dance floor of joy and connection.
The organisers extended heartfelt thanks to their sponsors, including Zarko Tarich from Cultivate, Sherwin Reddy from Good Karma Company, Bezu Coffee from Teff Ethiopian Cuisine, Teboho Montse from Hide Out Island, and Mmathapelo Mojela from Dezrykay Trading, whose support made the day possible.

In the end, the Afri-Sisters Cultural Exchange Event proved to be more than just a gathering, it was a true celebration of what makes Africa shine: unity through diversity. Congratulations to Lerato, Bonolo, and Karabo for creating such a meaningful and unforgettable experience. We can’t wait to see what the next Afri-Sisters event brings!
