Dezry Kay’s Musical Evolution: A Journey of Piano Mastery

Dezry Kay, a multi-talented and dynamic artist, has reached an exciting new chapter in her career by earning a Level One Certificate in Music from the prestigious Young Rebel Music School. Her journey into piano mastery throughout 2024 has been transformative, opening doors to both personal growth and artistic achievement.

Reflecting on her progress, Dezry Kay attributes much of her success to her remarkable teacher, Karabo Rajuili. “As a free-spirited Aquarius, I’m prone to boredom and distraction,” she admits. “But my piano journey has been a game-changer, thanks to my incredible teacher. There were times I felt like giving up, but she saw potential in me that I didn’t. Her unwavering belief in me led to a surprising opportunity: performing at a concert. I was hesitant, but she pushed me to rise to the challenge. Her guidance has not only enhanced my piano skills but also transformed my mindset. I’ve developed greater focus, dedication, and joy for learning. She’s had a profound impact on my life, and I’m forever grateful.”

At the school’s year-end recital, Dezry Kay took center stage, delivering a standout performance with a live band. Their rendition of Coldplay’s iconic “Clocks” captivated the audience and highlighted her growing confidence as a musician.

Dezry’s artistic journey continues to reach new heights. Her most recent project, an album produced at Maximum Stylez Studios in collaboration with Congolese producer ML Beatz, is slated for release in February 2025, perfectly timed to celebrate her birthday. This upcoming album showcases her global appeal, featuring contributions from international artists such as Ali Zai from Pakistan, Anela Jahmena from Cape Town, and Pepsin Mkhanyakude from Kimberley.

Looking ahead, Dezry Kay is preparing for a promotional tour, eager to share her music with new audiences. Alongside her artistic pursuits, she manages Dezrykay Trading, her creative company. She anticipates a year filled with live performances, fresh collaborations, and continued piano exploration – thanks in no small part to the inspiration and guidance of her teacher, Karabo Rajuili.
