Jan Blohm will officially be releasing his brand new album, JENNY, this coming Friday, 17 July 2020. To celebrate this joyous occasion, he will be doing a live, solo acoustic performance from the Lionel Smit Studios in Somerset West at 19h00 and this show will be streamed via Blohm’s Facebook page.

During this concert he will also be auctioning one of his own paintings.  The public will have the chance to bid on the painting during the concert by making offers in the comments section on his Facebook page. The highest bidder will be contacted after the concert.  The full concert will be uploaded to his YouTube channel afterward.

This launch concert will be free of charge, but donations are welcome and can be made directly into the following account:

The second single, Ou Karoo, from this new album was released last week and the public and fans are absolutely loving it!

Blohm describes Jenny as a concept album, which consists of 14 tracks telling the story of two teenagers from a small and conservative railway town, De Aar in the 1980s. It is his first foray into concept album territory, but one he says has been brewing for some time and it will one day be the soundtrack of his movie with the same name.

“The album is not merely a collection of songs,” explains the artist. “It is a careful composition of songs and poetry that tell a story and was put together over the course of 15 years. It’s like a film about Jenny’s life.”
