Following the phenomenal success of his EP Arende en Engele at the end of 2024, Len Muller kicks off 2025 with a brand-new single, Soos ‘n Engel. A short snippet of the song recently debuted on TikTok, and within just 12 days, it racked up over 200,000 views, with videos being widely shared. This overwhelming response signals that the track is on its way to becoming a fan favorite.
Soos ‘n Engel is a celebration of admiration, love, and the profound impact someone special can have on your life. This Afrikaans pop anthem seamlessly blends dance and festive elements, delivering a fresh, upbeat, and irresistibly catchy sound.
“Soos ‘n Engel is an exciting new musical direction for me. It’s a romantic song with a danceable rhythm—different from my usual style. I’m incredibly proud of this project and thrilled for people to hear it! It’s also one of my wife’s favorite songs; she’s been asking me to record it for four years. The title holds deep meaning, serving as a metaphor for how love elevates and inspires us,” Muller shares.
The song took shape over four years, with Juan Boucher later contributing to the second verse. Acclaimed producer Gideon Botes masterfully brought the track’s energy and emotion to life.
Inspired by the unforgettable feeling of being in love or admiring someone deeply, Len set out to create a song that encapsulates that magic. “It’s a feel-good song that I hope lifts people’s spirits—something the world could always use more of. I chose it because I believe it connects directly to people’s hearts. It’s a song meant to be shared and enjoyed with friends and family, no matter the occasion,” he adds.
Accompanying the single is a stunning music video for Soos ‘n Engel.
Filmed at scenic locations along Scarborough Beach and Kalk Bay Harbour, the video embraces natural beauty and simplicity, reinforcing the song’s heartfelt essence. The visuals create a timeless and authentic atmosphere that complements the song’s emotional depth.
“I wanted to craft something visually captivating that would stir viewers’ imaginations and resonate on an emotional level. The video’s simplicity and symbolism allow the song’s story to shine through. We aimed to transport audiences into a world that reflects the song’s uplifting spirit,” Len explains.
Adding a personal touch, Len’s wife, Chanél Muller, directed the music video, infusing it with her unique vision. The talented Nico Welgemoed handled the cinematography and editing, ensuring a visually stunning final product.
“Collaborating with my wife on this project was incredibly special. This isn’t just a song—it’s a creative celebration of love, family, and the unifying power of music,” Muller concludes.
Looking ahead, Len is working on a new album set for release later this year. He is also gearing up for more performances throughout 2025 and is honored to return to the prestigious INNIBOS festival in Nelspruit in July.
